Opening date set for APEC Haus

APEC Minister Justin Tkatchenko says APEC Haus will be opened next Thursday and handed over to the Government with all preparations set to go for the leaders’ summit next month.
Tkatchenko told The National that PNG had met all the requirements of the 20 economies as required by their advance teams during their visit last week.
“All venues are completed with APEC Haus now officially completed and will be opened next week to the Apec authority and Government,” Tkatchenko said.
He said Hilton Hotel would be officially opened for business on Friday.
“Final touch-ups and details and fits-outs are now being completed and we look forward to the new Hilton Hotel where the gala event for all the world leaders would be held.
“Everything has come together very nicely, the roads are now 99 per cent complete, so all the Chinese-funded roads along Poreporena Freeway are now completed.
“They are now doing the final touches on the sides of the roads, and the boulevard is about 99 per cent complete as well, with the final part being completed by Hebou Construction into the national parliament.
