Opposition redefining universal law of politics

A political science scholar once stated the universal law of politics as “those in power strive to always stay in power”.
This has been consistent with many governments throughout the world, including PNG.
In PNG, we have never seen a leader voluntarily stepping aside for another young leader to take over.
Pride, greed and other motives have always prevented them from leaving, even though they are inefficient or are involved in corrupt and other shameful infidelities.
As such, I take my hat off to opposition leader Sir Mekere Morauta and deputy opposition leader Bart Philemon for stepping aside and allowing the next generation to take over.
The fact that they handed over the leadership at a turbulent time show they care for the future of this country.
They showed they are looking ahead and their action is simply admirable.
