PRIME Minister Sir Michael Somare is known as the father of independence.
However, life back in the village is still the same.
Road networks are getting from bad to worse and the same goes with delivery of basic services like health and education.
It seems nothing has changed  for the better.
He is still hanging on to power unlike the opposition which has recognised the need to pump in new blood.
Although I am not a supporter of PNG Party, I believe it is doing the right thing by handing over the baton to younger leaders to bring the nation forward.
