Organisation aids police in EHP

THE China-PNG Friendship Association in Goroka yesterday presented more than K6,000 worth of diesel and food items to police in Eastern Highlands province.
Association president Bobby Chen handed over the food items to Eastern Highlands provincial police commander chief Supt Augustine Wampe in front of the different sectional heads of the police.
Mr Chen told the police that they were committed to support the police as they played very important roles to ensure there is peace and unity in the province.
“We are always happy to assist police in both good and bad times, during the anti-Asian crisis in May, police worked hard to safe guard many businesses and properties,” Mr Chen said.
Another member of the association Allan Lin said they wanted to continue to help police and other organisations such as schools, hospitals, sporting groups and communities to help them to become better.
Association treasurer John Lin was also present to witness the presentation of the food items and fuel to assist police in their special Christmas and New Year operation.
Upon receiving the gifts, Chief Supt Wampe thanked China-PNG Friendship association for the help.
He said what the food stuff and fuel for the special operation was a token of appreciation for the efforts of police to protect business, organisation, Government institutions and the public in the province.
“We will continue to protect every business houses in the province that are providing service for the public.”
The food stuff comprised of lamb flaps
cartons, sausage cartons, chicken cartons, soft drinks, tinned of meat, cooking oil, sugar bale and Sunshine Milk would be used for the police Christmas party next week.
