Organisation cleans Ela Beach to mark environment day

A NEW non-government organisation cleaned up Ela Beach to mark Environment Day which occurred last Friday.
Guardian Angels Givim Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation, carried out the dawn cleanup on Saturday along the beach.
The theme for the World Environment Day was “Time for nature”.
Foundation board member George Kulisi said: “We are a group of like-minded intellectuals who built our friendship in 2000-2001 while attending Port Moresby National High School.”
He said it was “all about helping those in need”.
“It’s not about money.
“It is about giving back to our communities in our own little ways.” Puma Energy provided 80 garbage bags, 120 pairs of hand gloves, T-shirts, caps and three tents for the exercise.
Puma Energy territory manager Jackson Sitbam, a foundation official, said the company supported organisations “caring and protecting the environment in which they operate”.
National Capital District Governor Powes Parkop and Port Moresby General Hospital chief executive officer Paki Molume joined in the cleaning up.
