International Training Institute (ITI) held an orientation programme for its new intakes on Wednesday at its main campus in Port Moresby.
Students were told about the policies and regulations, their responsibilities as students and the services provided for students.
One of the services that ITI provides is free counselling service.
Students were told to seek counselling if they encountered personal problems so these could be addressed in a professional manner which would not affect their studies.
Director of academic Dr Ashok Jayaraman told students to study hard by completing all their given assessments on time and attended lectures and tutorials.
“The ITI offers high quality programmes,” he said.
“The lecturers are highly qualified so students must work hard to reflect the high standards of the institute.”
More than 800 students have already registered in the Port Moresby campus.
So far the institute has received more than 1000 applicants.
The institute has two faculties, which are the faculty of information technology and faculty of business studies.
It offers certificates, diploma and higher diploma programmes.
Classes start today.
