OK Tedi Mining Ltd has delivered another project under the government’s tax credit scheme (TCS).

Managing director and chief executive Nigel Parker on Wednesday handed over keys to eight classrooms to Wangbin Primary School located in the mine lease area.

The K2.94 million classroom facility was another proof of the successful use of the TCS, Parker said.

He said the community should be thankful to the government for allowing OTML to use its tax funds to deliver the classrooms.

“People of Wangbin, these are your properties. I urge you all to take ownership and be accountable for them,” Parker said.

He  told the community that since the start of the scheme in 1997, OTML had delivered over K270 million worth of projects to the people of Western and Telefomin District in the Sandaun

“All these projects were focused on capacity building in education, health, road infrastructure and construction of jetties along the Fly River,” he said.
