Outreach programme plans to preach hope

Inter-Youth Wave, an inter-denominational group, will start its first outreach programme on May 12 in Port Moresby.
Group chairman Thomas Hola said their vision is to unite all youth ministries and organisations in the country.
“Our is to ensure youths discover hope, fulfil their calling individually and collectively, and facilitate prayer and healing among youths,” Hola said.
The theme of the event is ‘Showing you we care’.
The group members will be handing out foods, drinks, clothing and other donations during the out programme.
It also seeks to meet and greet people along the way, bless them and pray for them.
The main outreach event will be at Tabari place , Boroko, with various displays of mannequin challenge, mob dance, pose choreography and other activities.
The youth movement has been meeting in church buildings and in the Sir John Guise Indoor Stadium for the past four years since it was formed.
In December, the group became the first organisation to host a youth rally at the National Football Stadium.
The rally was hosted by different youth ministries in partnership with the Inter-Youth Wave committee.
Hola said: “The IYW youth rally was to create an environment for spiritual progression and unification to see God bless us as a youth body, rather than having insecurity and division which only weaken the bond of unity and influence in our country”.
“We believe that a better environment can generate spiritual progression for our members.”
He said the group membership had grown from 1000 in 2014, and will grow rapidly into the future as more youth ministries and organisations join.
