Ovasuru, Vala take out main awards

THE country is proud of the achievements of Cricket Papua New Guinea, Minister for 2015 Pacific Games and Sports Justin Tkatchenko says.
“You have proven to everybody that you can do it on the international stage more than many other sporting code and I look forward to the gold medals coming in the 2015 Pacific Games,” Tkatchenko said during the awards night last Friday.
Among guests at the vent were West Indians stars Dwayne Bravo, Kemar Roach and Richie Richardson and Wayne Dorgan, the managing director of the sport’s major sponsor.
Former national great Taunao Udu Vai, other local legends and international players attended.
Among those recognised for outstanding performances were Barramundis Assad Vala, Lewas Norma Ovasuru voted as Tony Elly Medal winner and Garamuts (U19) Kabua Vagi Morea being the Rarua Dikana Medal.
