I WRITE to air my frustrations about the Office of Workers Compensation (OWC) in Port Moresby.
The Labour Law Act on Workers Compensation states that when an employee is injured during work hours, the responsible employer must submit all necessary documents to the OWC within 12 months.
It is very disappointing that although I have complied with the rules, the department has failed me miserably since I submitted my files in 2009 to both the OWC and the insurer but still await a response.
I have contacted several staff and senior managers who tell me to call later or check next week.
Can the Labour Department investigate why it is taking so long to process a claim?
