THE inquiry by the parliamentary Public Accounts Committee into the 2008 government financial records was dismissed temporarily yesterday by chairman and MP John Hickey after witnesses were found to be unprepared to testify.
Senior public servants from the office of the auditor-general, departments of treasury and national planning and monitoring were reluctantly called to return on Thursday to give evidence as testimonies heard yesterday were not satisfactory or up to the expectations of the committee, Hickey said.
He said this indicated that witnesses were ill-prepared.
