Golo have been declared the Port Moresby soccer competition premier division minor premiers.

The boys from the Rigo coast did not play over the weekend but were named outright champions at the close of the season proper yesterday.

Port Moresby Soccer Association secretary-general John Mogi confirmed the Trophy Haus-sponsored team were the minor premiers.

Golo led the competition from the start, finishing on top of the ladder with 57 points ahead of fellow Rigo team, Keleiruna who finished second on 55 points.

Keleiruna consolidated their position on the ladder with an impressive 3-0 victory over Dilika in yesterday’s premier challenge at the Bisini Soccer ground.

The Henry Kairi-managed Sea Eagles, from Vabukori came third with 49 points, while the results of fourth-placed MBS and fifth spot getter DBTI yesterday did not affect their placing in the competition

Golo will stand-by for the grand final, while Keleiruna will play Sea Eagles in the qualification final. MBS will take on DBTI in the elimination final.

In the division one matches, Manena won the ‘clash of the Koiaris’ when they defeated Kokoda Warriors 3-1 to book the first spot in the grand final.

The Warriors will now play the Markham Yarangs in the semi-final. Yarangs struggled to win their match against TNT Vakena 3-0.

The Yarangs will have to work extra hard against the Kokoda Warriors if they want a win.

The Warriors proved they are worthy contender against their fellow Koiari team,
