Pair charged with wilful murder refused bail

 TWO men charged with the wilful murder of four Chinese nationals appeared before the Waigani District Court yesterday. 

They are Kieta Lasi Aina, 19, and Eric Naks Lako, 18, both from Kaivukoru village, Ihu, Gulf. Aina and Lako are charged with wilful murder under Section 299 (1) (a) of the Criminal Code Act. 

They are alleged to have killed four Chinese nationals at Poomo Industries PNG (Ltd) at Koki, in Port Moresby, on June 24.  

The four Chinese nationals who were Jiang Qin, and three men –  Wan Jian Gao, Chai Lian Zen and Wang Chuan Hai. 

Magistrate Cosmas Bidar told the two accused bail would not be allowed in the District Court because of the seriousness of the offence. 

Bidar advised Aina and Lako to apply for bail in the Waigani National Court. 

Aina and Lako are in custody and will reappear in court on Aug 12.
