Paita to become Marape’s puppet

Letters

WHY did Prime Minister James Marape appoint Rainbo Paita as Finance Minister?
From the outset, Rainbo does not have the knowledge and lacks experience to deal with PNG’s money.
It is now clear that the prime minister himself wants to control Paita just as Peter O’Neil was controlling him (Marape) when he was Finance Minister in the O’Neill regime.
This is exactly what Marape will be doing to Paita.
The citizens are in doubt by putting an inexperienced member into a highly demanding portfolio to “Take Back PNG”.

  • Honourable Paita is a leader elected into parliament by his constituents. He is educated and a degree holder just like the PM. How could you undermine his capability? Lest we forget, there are already qualified, experienced and seasoned departmental heads including managers and officers in the department and he is just a political head who will only provide the necessary political leadership required to suit current government’s political aspiration.
This country needs political leaders with standing, integrity and principle now than ever. I think he possesses those qualities. A good leader sees potential in persons and encourages it and I guess this is what PM JM just did. We should instead thank the PM to see those potential and allow it to shine instead of being too negative.

  • For your information, old, round-bellied, gray-haired, educated, experienced, filthy rich people corrupted and gave this country and its citizens to dogs. Let fresh talented, equally educated, youthful man run the show because he bring insights that those who have experience doesn’t have. Experience is not everything and is not the bench-mark for development. He has his vision, style, skills and wisdom of how he wants to try new things in there.
    Congrats Paita
