IT was a rare sight for villagers, especially small children, at Kalo village, when a helicopter carrying the member for Rigo and Foreign Affairs Minister Ano Pala made a surprise landing in the middle of their sports field on Saturday.
Even though it was raining heavily, the children could not be moved as they came closer so that they could see and even touch the helicopter.
The local MP was there to officiate at the 4th Kalo soccer and netball tournament.
Pala used the occasion hand over a Lucas sawmill worth K90,000 and a tractor with accessories worth K130,000 to the village.
The Rigo MP announced that next month he would install solar panels at Kalo village, enabling all the villagers to have access to light.
He told Kalo village that they were a well organised village when it came to hosting a community activity and delivering of government services.
