BRISBANE-based Papua New Guinea Palais train-on squad members Margulu Dixon and Amelia Kuk are determined to represent the country.

They are both looking forward to being Palais in the  Pacific Games next year in Port Moresby.

Dixon plays for the Tasmanian Icon but is in pre-season training with the GPS Rugby Club.

Kuk is a paramedic student and plays for the Red Heavies, which is the University of Queensland Rugby Club.

She started playing at 17.

For the two Brisbane-based players it will be a dream come true if they represent the country and they vowed to do all they could   to win gold on home soil.

Both were excited when their names were announced by the PNG Rugby Football Union last week after they played for Madang in the National Championships in Port Moresby recently.

The duo will make their debut for Palais in the Hong Kong Sevens if they are lucky.

Dixon, 27, is of mixed Tasmanian (Australia) and Kavieng (PNG) parentage, while and Kuk, 18, is from Mt Hagen, Western Highlands.

They will be valuable and quality assets for the Palais if included in the squad.

This will strengthen the campaign for the Palais in the Hong Kong Sevens next week.
