THE International Container Terminal Services Inc-sponsored Papua New Guinea Palais visited the Motukea international terminal outside Port Moresby yesterday.
Palais’ Kymlie Rapilla, Fatima Rama, Mala Mark and Owen Pokona, and new PNG Rugby administrator Martin Liri visited the company’s operations to show their support for the sponsor.
The Palais are preparing for two sevens tournaments — Sydney and Hong Kong — in the next few months.
ICTSI terminal manager Jose Roberto Dayco said: “Sponsoring the women’s rugby team is actually a part of our growth programme, so it’s good for the company to be the sponsor.
“We are proud to sponsor the team as we value ICTSI and locals to grow with excellence.”
Meanwhile, Rapilla said the Palais were looking forward to putting in strong performances in Sydney and Hong Kong.
“Right now we are in camp,” she said.
“The final squad is yet to be selected.
“But we’re in the train-on-squad, so everyone is in camp and preparing.
“There are about 18 of us in the train-on squad and the final selection will be done by the coach.
“With the new coaching staff and management, we are embracing the change and it’s good for the team moving forward to Sydney and the big one in Hong Kong in April.”
