THE national Paralympic team have settled in well into their first week at the Games Village in Tokyo, Japan.
Housed together with fellow Oceania countries Australia, Fiji and the Solomon Islands, the Papua New Guinea contingent went straight into training ahead of their events this week.
Morea Mararos (F34) will compete in the seated javelin today while teammate Nelly Leva (F46) contests the women’s javelin on Friday.
Both athletes are looking forward to their competitions as they go through technical and field training, drills and gym sessions under coach Jacklyn Travertz.
Mararos’ technical sessions are at Edogawa Track and Field Stadium while Leva trains at Yoyogi Park, only coming together for their combined gym sessions at the village’s fitness centre.
