Parents hit over attack on principal

MOROBE police commander Alex N’drasal has blamed parents for not disciplining their children at home, resulting in them causing problems in school.
He said this on Tuesday following the assault of Wasu High School principal Alphonse Kamba by some male students.
This was followed by a fight among male students.
The school was closed for some days until police went in to restore peace and normalcy.
“I hold parents responsible for allowing this incident to happen,” N’drasal said.
“Parents should discipline their children at home before they send them to school. Parents must be concerned about the education of their children. Schools are not places where children go and fight.
“Schools are places for learning and education. Schools are places where we’re supposed to raise law-abiding citizens.”
N’drasal said it was not good to see students turning around and attacking their teachers and principals.
The incident in Wasu was the second time a principal had been assaulted by students.
The previous principal was attacked by male students a few years ago which made him leave.
