Parents responsible for shaping children

Letters

EVERY year, thousands of students drop out of the formal education system in Papua New Guinea.
Some tend to engage in criminal activities for survival.
This has caused an increase in social issues in the country.
The Government often face challenges in addressing these issues.
One potential contributor to the problem is the lack of proper discipline and control of children by their parents at tender age.
Very strict discipline from the parents provides strong guidelines to help children become successful through education and contribute meaningfully to the development of this nation.
Parents should focus more on their children’s education.
