Parishioners gather for feast day

CATHOLICS from Mambe Parish celebrated Mary Magdalene’s Feast Day in Wewak last Sunday.
The day was celebrated to commemorate the time when Mary Magdalene witnessed the resurrection of Christ.
And to commemorate the first disciples of Christ.
Christians travelled from their villages to Mambe Parish by foot and public motor vehicles.
St Mary Magdalene’s Parish priest Fr Lawrence Tanu was present during the celebrations.
“Understanding the vocation of Mary Magdalene is important to us, parishioners,” Fr Lawrence said.
“It will encourage us to carry on from where she left.”
The day was planned and organised by the Parish Pastoral Council.
