PORT  Moresby Nature Park is storing water in tanks during this dry season to help conserve water from the city’s main water reservoir given the low water level at the dam.

The park will use the tanks earlier donated by KK Kingston and some more tanks are expected in the coming months.

It is a joint effort to save water under a project in the park.

Park general manager Michelle McGeorge said the tanks would be used to store bore water during this dry period for irrigation and flushing toilets.

In the wet season, water would be collected from the roofs.

“There is lots of pressure on everyone in city to save water during this dry period so we are doing our bit,” McGeorge said.
