Park hosting Environment Day next month

THE Port Moresby Nature Park will host World Environment Day next month to emphasise the importance of the natural environment and the need to protect it.
It will cover four themes including, water conservation, waste management, clean energy and climate change awareness. Nature Park general manager Michelle McGeorge said this was the largest and longest running international event which attracted 2,000 to 3,000 people, “predominantly families”.
She thanked the United Nations Development Programme and the Conservation, Environment Protection Authority for partnering to host the event.
World Environment Day will also feature activities for children including a fashion parade, animal presentation, face painting, games and activities.
There will also be a number of prizes and giveaways on the day.
