Parkop commends students

 HOLY Spirit High School students in Bogia district, Madang, have been commended for taking the initiative to raise funds for their school during their cultural day on Saturday.

NCD Governor Powes Parkop also thanked the school for inviting him as the guest speaker.

The school decided to hold a fundraising drive in conjunction with its cultural day to commemorate the country’s 38th independence anniversary during which students performed various traditional dances depicting their unique cultures.

School principal John Paul Malangen in his welcome remarks said apart from raising raising funds for the school and commemorating the independence, the school decided to revive its cultural day after realising that Bogia district culture was disappearing.
