NATIONAL Capital District Governor Powes Parkop says the Eda City Bus service that has been operating for the last three weeks is the beginning of a reliable and affordable transportation system in Port Moresby.
He said city residents deserved such a service which could be an effective mode of travel for them.
“I am confident that the buses have been fulfilling what passengers have been longing for and that was for a safe and reliable service that would be on time, affordable and clean,” he said.
Since the initiation of the service last month, it had seen a total of 3,304 passengers that travelled on the buses.
In a statement by the National Capital District Commission, it stated that the Eda City buses had been receiving positive feedback experiences from its users.
The commission said the routes that had full capacity of passengers were Gerehu to Laloki and 9-Mile to Manu routes.
“The encounter with the service was traffic congestions that were expected during peak hours,” the commission said.
The commission also released bus schedules for the convenience of passengers.
