NCD Governor Powes Parkop has issued a challenge to all provincial governors to support their team to PNG Games.
He also said Team NCD was the team to beat so they should ensure that the teams were well prepared for the event in Port Moresby from Nov 17-29.
Parkop said this when announcing the broadcasting rights to NBC and Kundu2 TV to cover the event last Thursday.
The challenge was especially directed at Morobe Governor Luther Wenge to ensure that Team Morobe were ready to defend their title in the National Capital District.
He said preparations for the event were on schedule with all logistics, especially accommodation in place.
The participating centres are expected to witness a spectacular opening ceremony.
Parkop said naming the NBC and Kundu 2TV as official broadcaster of the PNG Games was significant because NCD was eager to take the event to another level.
He said sport had been reorganised as a medium or vehicle for unity.
“Therefore, PNG uses sports to showcase our talent and build our nation.
“I am confident we are ready to deliver the Games and take it to another level,” he said.
Meanwhile, NBC managing director Joe Ealedona said NBC/Kundu 2 was humble for being named ahead of other electronic media outlets.
He said the broadcast rights allowed NBC and Kundu2 to bring the game to the people.
“We have set up a 95.5FM PNG Games station which will relay broadcast live the event to all provincial radio stations,” he said.
Ealedona thanked his partners Telikom PNG, PNG Sports Foundation and the PNG Games Secretariat in ensuring the games were broadcast to the people.
He said as a Government delivery service agent, they had a duty and obligation to the people.
“NBC and Kundu2 are only too happy to bring the PNG Games to you.”
