I APPEAL  to  NCD  Governor Powes Parkop to carry on with the buai ban.

Do not listen to those who dispute the good you are initiating with the ban.

It is surprising for politicians to question the ban.

Have  they thought about the consequences of not having the ban?

It appears that these politicians  and one minister  talk as if they have not set foot out of the country.

It  shows  poor leadership for not devising laws and policies that could improve the general wellbeing of people over time.

Let me remind them about the value of the ban.

First, it will prevent rubbish and spittle from piling up on the city’s streets.

Second, it will lower the rate of tuberculosis, which is spread quickly through air and moisture.

Third, we will look more civilised with our streets, buildings  and  people  looking clean and bright.

Fourth, it should also help raise the level of our thinking  and performance at work.

Fifth, the capital of the largest country in the Pacific Islands will be comparable to the capitals of smaller island nations like Port Vila and Noumea.

PNG has seven million people and no other Pacific Island nation’s population has even reached one million.

Parkop, 10 years down the road you will go into our history books for the change that was needed and simple to understand.
