Stalls for relief contribution to provinces affected by the 7.5 magnitude earthquake have been set up outside City Hall in Port Moresby.
National Capital District Governor Powes Parkop said on Friday that the stalls would be up for a week and funds raised would be used to assist people in the affected provinces for rehabilitation and restoration services.
“I know we all want to help Western, Southern Highlands, Hela and Enga but some of us are confused how and where to start,” Parkop said.
“With the stalls set up, it gives Port Moresby residents the opportunity to show support to those affected.
“If anyone has anything big or small to contribute, please bring it over so we can distribute via the right channels to those affected.”
Parkop urged business houses to come forward and give generously to help the relief effort.
Meanwhile, popular Southern Highlands musician Augustine Emil has requested the support of Parkop to stage a relief concert in Port Moresby on Saturday.
