Parkop, should not cave in on buai ban

ALL good things must come to an end and buai must go despite the huge loss of lives and properties or related damages.

Continue the ban in totality, not half-heartedly.

We are a third-world country that is rapidly developing and with all development, there are good and bad things; the abuse of buai is one of the bad ones that must go.

It will not go away if you create loopholes like selling dry beans, licensing people, building bulk stores or have disrespectful and uncooperative security personnel who cannot be uncontrolled.

The governor legislated the ban with good intentions and should keep fighting for it.

People will not realise the benefits now but in 15-20 years  when Port Moresby is the capital of the South Pacific, Powes Parkop will be remembered as the “iron governor”.

The other item he should work on is the ban on spray cans as it is costing so much damage to the city’s image.

Very concerned
