THIRTY individuals from Central have received certificates on financial and digital literacy for small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
They completed a two-week training on Friday which was held at Institute of Leadership Governance’s (Pilag) in Port Moresby.
The training was funded by the Central administration.
This demand-driven training programme is targeted at aspiring SME entrepreneurs who want to build their understanding of starting SMEs and managing them.
The ceremony saw the presentation of certificate awards to the 30 course participants by Central administrator Francis Koaba and Pilag chief executive officer Michael Barobe.
Koaba highlighted the three pillars of the provincial government’s five-year development plan saying agriculture was the main pillar.
Koaba encouraged his people to share the knowledge and skills they had acquired with their family members, relatives and friends.
Barobe commended the Central government for recognising Pilag as the government sanctioned training provider responsible for public and private sector capacity building and coming on-board to give the people of Central the necessary skills, knowledge and ability to effectively develop a
strategic values-based approach to ethically leading and managing business.
The 30 participants formed the third cohort of the programme.
