CUSTOMERS with bmobile-Vodafone will be able to select a wide range of local songs as their caller tune through a partnership with CHM Supersound.
According to bmobile-Vodafone chief marketing officer Parag Panjwani, the initiative is to allow subscribers to express themselves and to make the services more compatible with the public.
“Everyone in PNG loves music and make it a part of their lives for every occasion,” he said.
“Many in PNG even express their state of mind through the music they are listening to.
“The caller tune is just another way to let people of PNG express themselves.”
There is no charge for changing the song.
CHM music division manager Braden Chin said the service would offer another platform for the promotion of PNG music.
“Artists from PNG create some of the most melodious music in the world,” he said.
“At CHM we believe in offering as many different platforms as possible to polarise their music – from radio to digital formats like caller tunes.”
More than 20,000 songs will be available to subscribers to choose as their caller tune.
