A GOOD partnership is vital for achieving health goals, Morobe provincial health adviser Micah Yawing says.

Yawing said the success of the tuberculosis programme in the province came down to good partnership and networking between stakeholders involved.

The TB programme was carried out with the support of volunteers,  corporate and business sectors, mining, international donors, NGOs, churches and community groups, individuals, families and the Government.

“We saw a lot of achievements with our targets, especially with the children, teenagers and young women at a child bearing age,” Yawing said

Yawing emphasised that partnership is the way forward in achieving health goals.

“Community partnership and empowerment in taking ownership and responsibility is the way the province should go,” he said.

“I am happy with the partnership between stakeholders and the provincial health, especially in supporting the TB programme in the province.

“They took ownership of the programme.

“Through good partnership we will see a lot of achievements, advocacy and awareness.”
