Partnerships key for service delivery: MP

Papua

MEMBER for Kairuku-Hiri Peter Isoaimo says partnering with stakeholders and donor agencies is the way forward to providing services to the people.
“We need to partner with other stakeholders who are doing similar service delivery,” he said.
“I want to bring on board medical or health services. Now we are bringing on the Susu Mamas Association which used to be previously only locked down to maternity heath. Now they have spread out to doing all other health services. I want to bring them in to manage some of the aid post and some health centres, really because even in the national and provincial restructure of the public service, we see a reduction in staff right across the province.”
Isoaimo said if MPs concentrated only on exciting provincial government budgets and allocations, service delivery priorities and plans would not be fruitful.
“We need to go more onto donor partners and everybody who is in the business of sectoral service delivery by singing up MOAs and everything else to set services to be delivered by them also, otherwise we will be stuck forever.”
