PEOPLE’S Progress Party (PPP) president for Eastern Highlands Ben Lele, on behalf of party executives, supporters and the people of EHP, thanked the prime minister for recognising the party and appointing the Kainantu MP in his caretaker cabinet.
Speaking to The National yesterday, Lele said Kainantu MP Johnson Tuke was a senior member of the PPP and the party was a coalition partner in the new government, so for Prime Minister Peter O’Neill to recognise him and the party was a good move.
Tuke was the caretaker Minister for Mining, Culture and Tourism, Provincial Affairs and Environment, Conservation and Climate Change and has been appointed the Minister for Mining in the full cabinet.
Lele praised his party leader Sir Julius Chan for retaining his seat and also forming the   coalition with PNC to form the new government.
