Passion drives men to promote art

Youth & Careers

THREE Bougainville men have started a project which will promote local talent in the art of modelling, body art, fashion design and photography.
Ishmael Palipal, a photographer and graphic designer; Breddy Welbia, a graphic designer and fine artist; and Bruno Luoey, from Imagein Photography and Createk, began the project through their passion for photography and graphics design.
Palipal told The National that there were many young people in Bougainville who could model but there was no avenue tfor them to be exposed.
“We want to also create an avenue for fashion designers or those interested in fashion designing. In the near future, the models will exhibit these at a fashion show,” Palipal said.
“Fashion modelling is where we want to start, which we can use to assist in marketing the project further.”
They have had a lot of interest from Buka and Arawa.
They did their first shoot with one model and will do the rest later.
Their target is those aged between 20 and 35 years and living in Bougainville.
“The project is focusing on the art of fashion, modelling, art of fashion photography and the art of fashion designing. But for a start, we are focusing on art of fashion and art of modelling,” Palipal
said. “In the future we will engage a fashion designer then merge the three together and stage a fashion show in the region. We are looking forward to partnering with other agencies who supports or carry out similar project as soon as our project lifts up.”
