A PASTOR in Lae is calling on city authorities, the Department of Works and contractors to speed up work on the roads.
Pastor Bob Bofeng, a driver with the Lae Christian School of Tomorrow in East Taraka, made the call yesterday because he was often held up in traffic jams when going to pick students at Top Town, Eriku and surrounding areas.
Parents often question him on why he was late.
He said many students and workers were affected by the traffic congestion on Butibum Road in the mornings.
“I want to ask the Department of Works in the city to liaise with the contractor working on Bumbu Road to create a one way by-pass road to ease the traffic jam,”  Bofeng said.
