Patel: Hard work leads to success

BUSINESSMAN Sir Mahesh Patel says one must be dedicated and passionate to become successful.
Sir Mahesh, the founder of City Pharmacy Ltd Group, said, at the launch of the SME fair at the Unity Mall in Port Moresby, that doing business was not an easy ride.
“I was a SME 37 years ago when I arrived here. When people say to draw on success, it was (through) sheer determination, hard work and passion,” he said.
“If you want to succeed, it is not an easy road, it is tough. You will make mistake and have tough times, but if you stick at it, your determination and passion will see you succeed one day.
“We built the CPL Group not overnight. It took us 37 years and you can do it too,” he told the SMEs.
Sir Mahesh said CPL started its drive 10 years ago to support local farmers by sourcing local produce for its Stop & Shop outlets in Port Moresby.
“We started our SME project about 10 years ago from the Highlands, we need to start the importation and export balance of our produce that we sell in our shops, and that time we were importing 80 per cent of our produce,” he said.
