Pathetic and utter nonsense, Zibe

Letters, Normal

SO we need a new national health plan to take away the poor and dismal health services in the country?
I don’t know whether to laugh or cry when I read Health Minister Sasa Zibe’s comments.
We do not need a new health plan to deliver essential health services to the people.
What we need is a thorough review of the existing plan.
From this exercise, the minister and his advisers will then be able to pinpoint the areas that need to be targeted.
Once identified, the minister can then come up with an action plan to address the shortfalls and allocate time and resources to achieve the desired outcome.
I don’t think that all components of the current health plan have failed.
It is mainly the poor implementation and non-delivery of services and this has dramatically caused a series of chain reaction and snowball effect.
I seriously doubt a new plan is the way forward as can be seen from past experience. Plans become ghost plans as they contain a lot of rhetoric with very little tangible deliveries.
