THE Pacific Adventist University (PAU) held its first ever Career Expo at the campus last Thursday in which a total of 10 companies including Government agencies participated.
The miniexpo opened up the door of opportunities for the students mainly in the field of Business Studies who took advantage to find out more about these companies and what was required of them (students) to secure jobs with these companies.
Some of the companies that took part were Bank South Pacific (BSP), Digicel PNG, Kina Finance, PNG Ports, NARI, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Office of Higher Education and others.
The purpose of the expo was to have employers from the public and private sectors put up displays about their companies and pamphlets describing what their companies do and what students could expect from a career with the company.
Companies were assigned a station each at the student centre.
Students  from year one through to post graduate visited various employer stations to talk, receive written information and generally learn about career opportunities, and how to prepare themselves accordingly.
They also informed the students about the graduate programmes they offered.
