Pay funds to wards directly

I AM one of the local level government managers in Hela.
I believe the Government had gazetted the policy of giving out ward service improvement programme funds.
It was a good start sometimes ago when former prime minister Peter O’Neill implemented this policy to pay K500,000 to local level governments.
However, I believe this ceased when funds were misused.
Now, the K500,000 is reduced to K10,000 to a ward which I think is best because this is where funds will really reach the rural majority.
I appeal to the Government to implement this policy for local level governments to access their funds directly from Waigani.
Some local level governments and wards have opened their ward accounts hoping to receive this.
There will be great impacts at the ward level when this is actioned.
