MEMBERS of disciplined forces can expect to be paid their 3 per cent cost of living adjustment in the coming fortnights, according to Public Services Minister Elias Kapavore.
He told The National that this was the latest information received by the department on Thursday. They were told earlier to expect the pay adjustment this week.
“There are different pay scales for the disciplined forces. And the configuration of the Alesco payroll will take two fortnights,” he said.
“The configuration will include Pay 19 and Pay 20.”
On Pay 21, he said police officers would receive their increments. It will be followed by the Law and Justice Sector on Pay 22.
“We are looking at all public servants to be paid by Pay 23,” Kapavore said.
He assured public servants that they would be paid and must continue their good work.
The Government committed more than K200 million to ensure that public servants received those payments, backdated to January last year.
It is being paid to civil servants progressively in groups. The first group involved 60,000 teachers.
All the payments (pay adjustments) are expected to be completed by the middle of next year.
The Government will then put the appropriation for 2019 in the budget proper.
