Payment for h’way almost complete

THE payment for claims under the Highlands Highway rehabilitation programme will be done this week.
The payment is timely for the claimants living along the corridors of the Chimbu section of the highlands highway on the eve of Christmas.
The payment is for
structural and environmental work on the highway.
Principal of Mori Resource Consultants, Wera Mori,
said payments for Southern Highlands had been
completed and they were now moving to Chimbu.
He said payments would be made starting from Miunde (border of Chimbu and Western Highlands) towards Kundiawa and from Magiro (border of Chimbu and Eastern Highlands) towards Kundiawa.
Police in Goroka, Kundiawa and Mt Hagen will
be deployed to oversee the payment to claimants .
“We will start paying on Wednesday and continue into the Christmas and New Year period until we complete everything,” Mori said.
