Lufa MP Moriape Kavori says development and the smooth flow of services is only possible when there is peace and harmony.
He said this when brokering peace between two warring clans, the Kewo and Lufle, who had been fighting for the past four months.
Kavori told the clans at that in war there were no winners, only losers.
β€œIn districts and provinces that experience frequent tribal fights, with law and order problems, you will not see developments taking place,” he said.
β€œI want you to stop the fighting and maintain the peaceful name of Lufa district.”
Kavori also thanked the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) church for leading peace negotiations.
He presented K5000 each to the two factions.
The Kewao and Lufle clans are from the Sahara area in central Lufa.
The peace ceremony was witnessed by Kavori, members of Lufa peace and good order committee, and senior provincial public servants.
