NON-Morobeans living in and around Lae want a peaceful and lasting solution to the recent uprising in the city.
They have vowed to work with the peace and good order committee to ensure that normalcy returns to the city.
Their leaders made this clear yesterday when their representatives met with the committee at the provincial disaster office.
They agreed that most of the trouble stemmed from street vendors, urchins and trouble-makers living at the various blocks and settlements who come to town daily to sell their wares and hassle people.
The representatives appointed a sub-committee that will liaise closely with the committee to restore order.
Many were concerned about the unnecessary disruption of classes for the hundreds of school children.
