People told to nominate good choices

NOMINATIONS will open for the election of ward councillors tomorrow at 4pm and those nominating candidates are urged to be aware of their choices.
All nomination centres will be at respective local level government (LLG) stations except for those who are in remote areas or those that cannot be easily accessed by Electoral Commission officials to be conducted at a central location.
Morobe assistant election manager Freda Joses, in an interview with The National yesterday, said for places like Nabak LLG in Nawaeb, nominations would be conducted at Ahi LLG because it was easily accessible.
She said the election was only for ward councillors and would follow the limited preferential voting system (LPV).
Joses discouraged the payment of cash for nomination fees.
“The nomination fee is K200. I encourage all intending candidates to pay their fees at the bank and provide receipts upon nomination.”
The nomination fee must be paid into the Papua New Guinea Electoral Commission Trust Account. Account Number: 1000489658.
