People will recognise MPs work, Malabag says
The National, Monday February 29th, 2016
WHAT MPs do for people will be recognised by the people and MPs should keep that in mind when delivering services, Health Minister Michael Malabag said.
“This year will be all about opening of classrooms after classrooms,” he said while opening a classroom at St Johns Primary last week.
June Valley was to follow and the other (schools) later. Malabag said he was committed to seeing success in education.
“I’ve done a lot of things but I do not talk too much about it or make claims of my work out loud to the media, it is recognised by the people,” he said.
“A lot of things will be done this year.
I am used to negative comments and I take it and swallow it with pride and dignity,” Malabag said.
He said classrooms should be built for purpose.
“We are talking about quality and money here,” he said.
“It’s about an asset that should be given enough time and quality for it to last for years.
“I have spent money on education. I hope students appreciate what their member has done.
Malabag said funds for the St Pauls Primary School at Gerehu which he had pledged in 2013 were being used up but he would still honour his words by allocating K200,000 when the next funding allocation was ready.
