Pepes keen to improve world ranking

PNG Pepes (Butterflies) will be looking forward to improve their ranking on the world stage when they take on Fiji, Samoa and the Cook Islands in the Pacific netball series in Port Moresby in June.
The tournament will in Port Moresby from June 6-10.
Pepes, who were ranked 11th in their previous World ranking, had fallen sharply to 17th as a result of losses at the Pacific netball series and the Delhi Commonwealth Games last year.
The PNG Netball Federation has been tasked to host the series in Port Moresby.
The challenge was hosted in Apia, Samoa, in 2009, and last year, the Cook Islands played hosts to the tournament while PNG has been given the honours to host the event this year.
The Pepes final squad was not named yesterday but it is believed that three overseas-based players will the team for the event.
The tournament will be held at the Sir John Guise Stadium.
Dorgan said that PNS would be a celebration of women in sports with 84 international athletes, technical officials and administrators gearing up to show the passion for netball in the Pacific region.
