Pepes named for S’pore meet

THE Papua New Guinea Netball Federation has announced the final team for the Fairprice Foundation Nations Cup in Singapore next month.
The team which includes players and a three-member team management was released by PNGNF secretary Mona Lisa Leka yesterday afternoon.
The tournament will be held from Dec 5-12.
The Pacific MMI PNG Pepes squad is Maleta Roberts, Michaelle Gietzel, Marie Otio, Rayleen Andrews (shooters), Richanda Kassman, Cherly Renagi, Lama Lua, Kila Amini (midcourt), Lua Rikis, Winnie Mavara, Kapu Kapi, Nancy Kapi (defenders).
The team management is Pole Kassman (head coach), Mike Petrides (assistant coach/primary care) and Helen Havora (team manager).
After that tournament, the Pepes will prepare for the fourth Pacific Netball Series in Fiji from June 26-30 next year.
“The next 12 months will be an exciting time for PNG netball in all facets of the game, including its high performance, capacity building and development, schools programmes and governance programmes,” Maliaki said.
Maliaki said Pepes’ participation at the Pacific Netball Series will also see two of their rising players participate in the Singapore Netball’s Super League tournament in the first quarter of next year.
