PETE’S PUNCHLINE

Sports

  • While it seems proper to sanction Star Mountain’s coach for telling his boys to walk off, can the NSL at least come out and say what’s been done to address the substandard refereeing. Some calls made are just frustrating.
  • FC Bougainville have been the surprise package in the NSL so far. Three straight wins, a jump from eighth to fifth and now sitting outside the top-four.
  • Graham Berigami from the Tusbab Stallions swapped his goalkeeping gloves for a position in the forwards. He played his heart out against guys twice his size and managed to score a goal. Respect.
  • Thumbs up to PJ and the guys at Capital Rugby Union on getting the season moving. It’s just the premier grade this year so we’re expecting the cream of the competition to come out in the coming weeks.
  • The Nuggets shocked the Clippers and now face the Lakers in the Western finals. I knew Jokic was a good big but I didn’t know he was that good. And Jamal Murray ain’t too shabby either. Anything they do from here on is a bonus. Go Denver.
  • No, I didn’t forget Jimmy Butler and the Heat. Another surprise, but I guess its been in the making. Man’s been the picture of consistency over the last five seasons. But can he do a Kawhi, though?
  • The Panthers look slick as hell but the Roosters will blow them away when the time comes. I read it in the tea leaves.
  • Liverpool and Chelsea to settle for a draw and Manchester United to ease past Crystal Palace. – PGTP ([email protected])
