Phoenix new side in NCDVA pre-season

THE National Capital District Volleyball Association begins its pre-season competition this weekend at the Taurama Aquatic and Indoor Centre.
The 2019 pre-season will be on for three weekends this month, the first two weekends will be played using a round robin format and the third weekend will be the finals.
Each club in the competition is expected to field two teams, one for the men’s and one for the women’s before the start of season next month.
The pre-season team registration fee is K100.
Clubs will pay K200 for their men’s and women’s teams.
The six clubs confirmed to play this weekend are Scorpions, Jamas, U-Mi Yet, Vailima, Telikom and newcomers Phoenix.
The association said there were several new clubs that had shown interest in joining the association and the door was still open for them to be included later in the season proper.
For the regular season, all teams are expected to field four teams — two for men’s and two women’s teams. Phoenix, which was formed by Bala Babaga formerly of the Vailima volleyball club, are the only new club included in the pre-season competition.
